By purchasing a voucher, making a reservation for accommodation or booking an experience at Scribbly Farm, you agree to be subject to these terms and conditions.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND ACCEPTANCE OF RISK
Scribbly Farm is a working farm backing onto National Park. Both farm livestock and wild animals are found on the farm. Staying on our farm offers an experience complete with the risks associated with these animals and farming and a nature immersive experience.
Minors fall under the legal duty of care of their guardians
I acknowledge that by reason of the nature of activities and the natural environment at Scribbly Farm, that there is a risk of injury, death, or an adverse effect to any current or past medical conditions. As such I acknowledge and agree that I and my children/wards/partner/ guests engage in activities on the site, at the my/their own risk.
I understand that I am under no obligation to partake of any activities.
To the best of my knowledge, I and my wards and guests, are physically and emotionally able to participate in the advertised activities and know of no reason as to why I cannot participate.
I understand that I can ask any questions and seek more understanding of activities at the briefing prior to any activities.
I give Scribbly Farm management and staff authority, at the sole discretion of Scribbly Farm, to obtain medical and ambulance assistance on behalf of the guest in the case of injury, death or ill health while on site and communicate with my next of kin or emergency contacts as may be required.
In staying or visiting Scribbly Farm SH Pty Ltd, I agree as follows:
I fully understand and acknowledge that staying at Scribbly Farm and participating in its activities includes risks, dangers, and hazards which may result in injury or illness including, but not limited to bodily injury, disease, strains, fractures, partial and/or total paralysis, death or other ailments that, could cause serious disability or aggravate current and/or past medical conditions. I hereby assume all risks and dangers and all responsibility for any losses and/or damages.
I specifically understand that I am releasing, discharging, and waiving any claims or actions that I may have presently or in the future against Scribbly Farm SH Pty Ltd.
BOOKING TERMS
Accommodation
1. Guests must be over 18 years of age
2. An infant under 12 months old can stay free of charge along with 2 adults, no cot or additional bedding available
3. The Dome infrastructure is not suitable for young children, between 12 months and 12 years of age.
4. Children aged 12 years and over are permitted if both domes are booked or as part of our private pastures package. A child aged 12 years and over is considered as an adult and the maximum capacity remains the same.
CANCELLATIONS
1. Cancellation of a booking within 30 days of arrival will result in the full forfeit of moneys paid unless the property is re-booked for the entire period or part thereof. Refunds are not available for gift vouchers
2. In all cases, booking fees and credit card surcharges are always non-refundable.
3. All cancellations or requests to change booking dates must be received in writing.
4. Although we will be as flexible as possible, refunds are generally not permitted for circumstances including.
1. A change of travel plans
2. Disruptions to transportation to the property
3. Illness
4. A lack of access to attractions (such as wineries or events been cancelled) due to factors beyond our control (such as bushfires, inclement weather, etc)
5. Forecast weather or other environmental impacts (such as rain, smoke haze, extreme heat or cold, high winds, bushfires, floods, etc)
GENERAL SAFETY
Scribbly Farm is a working farm and a rural Property that may not be staffed 24/7. There is limited phone service and no Wi-Fi on the property so you will not be able to use your mobile phone in an emergency. [ emergency phone available at the main house].
You (the guest/s) acknowledge that is your responsibility to maintain your own safety in and around Scribbly Farm. You acknowledge that you are aware of the risks entailed in the remote, natural, rural environment (including but not limited to wildlife including spiders, wombats (and wombat holes), snakes and lizards and uncontrollable environmental factors such as extreme temperatures, windy conditions, unexpected bushfires and subsequent smoke, rain, hail, thunder and lightning, trip and slippery hazards found in the natural environment and rugged bushland). Please note that some risks are heightened by the low-light environment at night, outdoor night-time activities are purely reserved for organised activities.
In the event of an emergency guests must follow direction of the relevant authority RFS etc.
First aid kits are in all Geo Domes. A full first aid kit and defibrillator and emergency phone is available at the main house.
DAMS AND WATERWAYS- The dam and creeks on Scribbly Farms Property are unfenced, have steep slippery sides with water lilies and/or debris rocks that can cause entrapment.
Swimming is not recommended, fishing, yabbying is undertaken at your own risk. The water is murky and approximately 4 metres deep and the creek varies in depth. Minors (children under the age of 18 years) are the sole responsibility of their parents/guardians and must be always supervised.
ACCESS AREAS
Crossing fences and gates into the animal paddocks is not permitted these gates are marked ‘Private/ No access’ and the fences are electric. Always close gates behind you. Never approach any livestock on the farm.
Wild animals- Some dangerous animals/creatures you may encounter are snakes, spiders, ticks and, stonefish in the creek. Interaction with all animals is entirely at the risk of the guest. Never corner a any animal / reptile or attempt to handle it.
GENERAL
No smoking or vaping is permitted in the domes.
Abusive or violent behaviour towards staff or other guests, intoxication, drug use, excessive littering, failure to comply with directions may result in being asked to leave the property.
Guests will be considerate regarding noise levels a reduction of noise is required after 10pm.
When staying at Scribbly Farms, we advise you to keep all your belongings and valuables safe. Scribbly Farm SH does not assume financial responsibility, in the event your personal possessions are lost, stolen, damaged or misplaced on the premises during your stay.
Each Dome is for 2 people only. By paying and confirming for your booking, you are agreeing that under no circumstances, will additional guests be brought back to the Property.
Scribbly Farm SH recommends that at the time of booking you purchase comprehensive travel insurance, to cover items including but not limited to, loss of booking fees owing to cancellation, loss or damage to personal baggage, loss of money and medical expenses.
STRICTLY NO PETS
Due to the proximity of wildlife and stock, no pets are allowed on the Property under any circumstances. If guests are found to have a pet or there is evidence of a pet having been on the premises Scribbly Farm reserve the right to request guests and their pet leave without a refund and pay a cleaning fee of $500.
ELECTRONICS AND WATER SUPPLY
Our Domes are off grid which means we rely solely on off grid solar power. Please note that there are no power sockets provided in the Domes. Our solar kit is calibrated to power low voltage appliances ie: fan, fridge. We are unable to accommodate any external electronics whatsoever.
VEHICLES
Guests agree to follow the signposts to your assigned Dome or meeting point and park in the designated parking area. The speed limit is 10 Kph, please keep to the driveway, attempting to drive in the paddocks may result in your car being damaged or bogged or damage to Scribbly Farms Property.
Any towing or repairs of the property or vehicles that may be required will be at your expense. Guests will be liable for any additional damage to Property or livestock caused by driving off the designated road and parking locations. Gravel roads may not be suitable for low-lying cars i.e sports cars. If you are unsure about road access and suitability to your car, please check with us prior to booking.
WOOD FIRES, GAS APPLIANCES AND OPEN CAMPFIRES
Woodburning stoves in the accommodation must be used in accordance with instructions and the door must never be left open. The door must be fully closed to the lock position when in use.
Scribbly Farm is in a bush fire prone area and open fires are not permitted unless part of a booked activity. Open fires are subject to council regulations and are not permitted during times of Total Fire Ban.
The GAS outdoor heaters, BBQ and Hobs supplied at the accommodation are strictly only to be used in the covered outdoor area and must not be removed from deck area or used inside the domes. Fire extinguishers are located inside and outside each Dome. A fire blanket outdoor bench area.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS
It is guests’ responsibility to inform Scribbly Farm staff of any serious medical conditions & relevant emergency contact numbers.
DAMAGES
Scribbly Farm reserves the right to pass along to guests the costs incurred because of damages, loss, and breakage of Scribbly Farms property, caused by themselves. Including the following:
Damage to Geo Domes and other buildings/facilities including all bed linen, towels, bedding, and pillows. Breakages of crockery or appliances. Excessive littering, or failure to remove excess rubbish from accommodation.
If during a guests stay, and attributable to any guests or visitors should any unforeseen expenses become apparent, the guests credit card will be charged an amount, appropriate to the expense, at a rate determined by the management of Scribbly Farm. In addition, until the affected room is fit for future guests, the appropriate nightly rate will be charged to the guest’s credit card.
Fees chargeable to a guest account include, and are not limited to:
- Smoking, smoke odour, room degradation (such as vomit, red wine spills, general damage, and any issue sufficient to result in a room being withdrawn from future sale). - Stains to bedding and towels resulting from body tanning products.
